Spring Break

Well, been a while since my last entry. Anyone really surprised? There's a new video up. We had a good time with this one, and I got to act in it, which is fun once in a while. I'm on spring break right now, so I'm trying to be good and work on some of the big semester projects. There's still a lot to go, but I also don't want to spend my entire break working.

Guess I never said how Dream Theater was. It was freaking awesome! They are just unbelievable. I stuck around in the cold afterwards and got James LaBrie's (vocals) and John Myung's (bass) autographs. Wish the rest had come out, but I can't complain too much. (Never Enough).

I also finally got back in the gym again. I hadn't gone climbing for about a month, and it was really starting to get to me. I actually got to go with a friend from back when I worked in Yellowstone. I had never expected to see any of those people again. MySpace has its uses, eh? So I hadn't lost much of my climbing ability in that month, but my stamina was completely shot. Time to get back in the habit!

Sense of Accomplishment

I have the earplugs right here. I'm going to see Dream Theater tomorrow. First of all, woohoo! I am so stoked about this concert. Octavarium is their best album in a long time, and that's saying something. Their past few albums have been great, but Octavarium is just fantastic. The mere thought of hearing the title song played live sends chills down my spine. For those of you who don't know Dream Theater, fair warning before you obtain some. They are, in my opinion, the greatest current prog rock band, but they're something of an acquired taste. Their average song length is about 8 minutes, and they love to change things up in the middle. Not something you'll be tapping your toes with on the first time through. But if you appreciate remarkable musical prowess, and like a little heavier edge, you might like them.

Now, on to the sense of accomplishment. Because I'm going to the concert, I won't have tomorrow night for doing homework. So get this: I got it done early! Novel concept, no? I actually sat down and did the (huge) assignment for Film Expression on Saturday, well before the last minute, and just finished the rest of my homework for Wednesday. If you've never done this before, I suggest you try it. It's a great feeling. I even took the "getting stuff done" thing so far as to post a blog entry! I'd better be careful it doesn't become a habit. Everything in moderation, right?

What’s with Wednesday?

Wow, so the past week was nuts. I had two midterms last Wednesday. (Aced both. One turned out to be take-home because the teacher forgot to photocopy it!) I also had one of three major projects due in my Lit class. You can see what I did for that here. Probably won’t make much sense without reading the stories, but my class loved it!
Then I had the first of two big Production I projects due today. You can see that here. That one went over pretty well, too, although there are some things I wish had caught during shooting. Well, that’s what I’m going to school for, eh? Yeah, so this one’s kinda a downer like the character exercise. I promise they won’t all be that way.
I also interviewed for a job at an Apple Store last Wednesday. I’ve wanted to work there for a long time, but so do a lot of other people. I’m supposed to hear back at the end of this week. There background check thing I had to fill out was pretty extensive, so if anyone contacts you about me, don’t be afraid to say how much I rock!

Well, if all goes as planned, the site should be live. I guess if it’s not, you won’t be reading this to prove me wrong. Win-win for me! I’ve put up my first two video projects for school. Check those out!
